Our History
A group of experienced business men and women from Southern Arizona recognized the need for a customer service oriented community bank that focused on small businesses and that offered local oversight and decision-making on lending requests. They pooled their considerable business expertise and founded Commerce Bank of Arizona in 2001.
The Bank opened its doors for business on August 5, 2002, at its main office located at 3805 E. Broadway Blvd. in Tucson. We had 12 employees and $7,300,000 in capital.
By the fifth anniversary of the Bank's opening on August 5, 2007, we had increased our presence in Southern Arizona to four branches---three in Tucson and one in Green Valley. Our staff had nearly quadrupled in size to 45, and the Bank's total assets surpassed $190,000,000.
